Redfish: Mostly an inshore fish that is found throughout Florida, Redfish are large and can weigh around 51 pounds. They are commonly found in mangroves and oyster bars.
Snook: Snook are easily found in bays and around structures. They don’t enjoy cold waters and can’t survive in temperatures below 60 degrees, so they are usually found in southern Florida. The best time to fish for Snook is during tide changes about two hours before sunrise and between two to three hours after sunset.
Trout: Speckled sea trout are a fun catch and usually weigh around 4 pounds. They are active in the winter months throughout Florida. Trout can be found in various locations such as grass, mangroves, and deep holes with sandy bottoms.
Tarpon: Tarpons love warm, shallow water with sandy mud bottoms. They can usually be found in coastal waters and estuaries. Tarpons are large fish that average around 6 feet long and 100 pounds. Tarpon is mostly a catch-and-release fish and isn’t great for eating.
